Important Information Regarding COVID-19
In recognition of ongoing news reports and the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus, we realize our patients have questions. As dedicated health care professionals, we want you to know that we remain as diligent as ever in protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our practice strictly adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control by wearing personal protective gear, using hospital-grade disinfectants, practicing the latest sterilization protocols, utilizing single-use disposable materials, and more. Every effort we have in place is to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. We want you to know that we are monitoring this situation very closely, and we will keep you updated regularly.
Symptoms of coronavirus are reported as flu-like, with varying degrees of severity. While we do not know everything about this virus to date, individuals who are elderly and/or immunocompromised appear to be the most at risk of a severe infection. To ensure your health and safety, and the health and safety of everyone at our practice, please reschedule your appointment if you or a member of your household has a cough, fever, and/or flu-like symptoms. In addition, please reschedule your appointment if you have traveled to any areas within the past 14 days that are at high risk for contracting the coronavirus.

The following is our COVID-19 office policy:
These policy changes have been made and implemented in light of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic to provide the safest environment possible to protect the patients, staff and families.
1) We ask that you reschedule your appointment if:
a. You are undergoing quarantine due to:
i. Positive test for COVID-19
ii. Awaiting test results for COVID-19
iii. Doctor recommended quarantine
b. Feeling sick or experiencing sore throat, cough or fever.
c. Travelled to a COVID-19 hot spot with in past 14 days
2) Use of a mask is required while in the office (may be cloth).
3) In an attempt to limit traffic through the office, the patient only will be permitted in the office unless you planned for sedation, your escort will be confirmed, screened, temperature taken, mask confirmed and remain in the vehicle with appropriate cell phone number. The escort will still need to remain in the parking lot. Exceptions include, but are not limited to:
a. Treatment of a patient under age of 18
b. Patient is unable to make decisions either medically or financially
c. Patient has a designated assistant
4) Upon arrival to the office:
a. You will come to the front door which will be locked
i. If there is someone else there, please remain in your vehicle and call (910)295-8088 and instructions will be given
b. Prior to entry into the office (patient and escort):
i. Mask will be confirmed
ii. Questions regarding health, travel and possible prolonged exposure to person who has tested positive to COVID-19
iii. Temperature will be taken with touchless thermometer (forehead)
c. Treatment will be deferred 14 days in following situations:
i. COVID-19 positive
ii. Being tested for COVID-19 (PUI)
iii. Prolonged exposure to person who has tested positive to COVID-19
iv. Temperature 100.4 or greater
d. Hand antiseptic will be used upon entry to the office
e. Social distancing is stressed between other patients and staff members
